City transportation tickets

Subway and buses can be used using the same tickets. Tickets can be bought at selling machines in each subway/train station and at selected bus stops using credit cards or cash, or at most newspaper kiosks and tobacconists.

Tickets of most interest for you are as follows:

  • BIT (1.50 Eur), unlimited bus travelling within 100 minutes from first bus ride, including at most one subway (metro) journey. Remember to validate your ticket using the onboard/station machine on each bus/subway station.
  • Roma 24H (7.00 Eur), unlimited bus/subway travelling for 24 hours (can be bought at newspaper kiosks and tobacconists). Remember to validate your ticket using the onboard/station machine on each bus/subway station.
  • Roma 48H (12.50 Eur), unlimited bus/subway travelling for 48 hours (can be bought at newspaper kiosks and tobacconists). Remember to validate your ticket using the onboard/station machine on each bus/subway station.

Information about local transportation can be found on the ATAC (the local transportation company) website.

If you have a mobile Internet connection available, you can use Google Maps to plan your journeys, and also download the official app "Muoversi a Roma" (also in English) from ATAC (iOS and Android apps) to additionally have real-time waiting times at each bus stop.

If you plan to visit museums, have a look at Roma Pass, which also includes transportation.

If you wish to pay by credit card, ask the operator a cab with a card reader. Price for an average journey within the city will be 15-30 Eur.

The restaurant is beautifully located in the historical centre, close to Montecitorio (Parliament), Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

You can reach the restaurant from the conference venue in the following ways:

  • With a 35 minutes pleasant walk (of about 3 Km) passing by Via Veneto, Piazza Barberini and the Parliament, and with the possibility of short detours to Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon and Piazza Navona [Path on Google Maps];
  • By taxi
  • By bus: take bus n. 63 or 83, get off at stop named ``Corso/Minghetti'' (overall 9 stops) and walk for 500 m to Pantheon and then along via della Rosetta until the end of the street.
