Abstract

This work presents a co-simulation framework developed to evaluate the impact of scheduling latencies and task design choices on the performance of engine control applications. The framework is based on Simulink and exploits an extension of the T-Res scheduling tool to inject delays introduced by operating system mechanisms. The work includes a set of models for the engine components developed to evaluate the performance with respect to combustion efficiency, soot, and NOx emissions.
