Abstract

The received signal strength indication (RSSI) is the most common way of measuring distances in range-based localization, but it suffers from large noise variance due to obstacles that obstruct or reflect the received signal. This work proposes an accurate RSSI localization algorithm that dynamically estimates the parameters of the path-loss model through an effective data fusion algorithm that integrates RSSI, time of flight, and inertial measurements.
